About Bill Tomsa
One day I ran into a couple that had purchased one of my paintings years before. They told me how they hung the painting in the kitchen where it was one of the first things they saw in the morning and how it still gave them a feeling of joy and inspiration every day. That comment from collectors that value my art was worth more to me than any amount of money I have ever received for any piece of artwork. That is one of the things that keeps me pushing to do my best work.
My art, regardless of the medium I use, is a reflection of my efforts to bring that kind of joy and inspiration to everyone on whose walls my art hangs. I hope you will find something in the art I present here that will inspire you to join my group of collectors. To help you understand my background of over 50 years in the field of art I present the following to you.
My professional art/design experience covers a span of over 5 decades as a graphic designer/illustrator/fine artist/photographer. The later two, fine artist and photographer, I have been focused on since the late 1990s.
My paintings and photographs are an eclectic mix of subjects and genres that cover landscapes, still life, transportation, sports, etc. I also have delved more and more into abstract expressionism and look forward to more exploration of this genre of painting.
But no matter my subject or genre, or medium, painting or photography, I strive to include the elements of good design/art to create the best works I'm capable of, while continuously trying to improve my skills.
Much of my paintings efforts over the past few years has been focused mostly on plein air. I greatly enjoyed being a member of the Plein Air Painters of Maine (PAPME) when we lived there and now am a juried member of the Arizona Plein Air Painters (APAP) and have had my paintings juried into the most recent APAP Members Art Shows as well as other juried group shows around the Valley. I am also a juried member of the Sonoran Arts League and the Arizona Art Alliance. I am also a member of West Valley Arts Council, an art group in Surprise, AZ. My award winning artworks are in collections throughout the United States and worldwide as well.
And as a reminder, many of my original paintings are for sale by emailing me directly at BillTomsaArt912@aol.com.
Thank you for visiting my artworks.
