Description

Broad Stripes and Bright Stars, as described in the song Star Spangled Banner, focuses attention on the two main elements of the American flag in all of it's simple glory. I've admired this banner not in a political reference but in an aesthetic sense, with an artist's eye. I have always loved, no matter how disheveled this flag becomes, it is still a wonderful study in design and I have tried in all of my photos and paintings of it to pay homage to that fact.
