"Journey No. 2" - a vertical acrylic abstract painting second in my "Journey" series of abstracts done in blues and red/oranges with a multicolored line that is a nod to our time spent in the Southwestern United States. A feeling of depth, on this two dimentional canvas, is achieved through the use of drop shadows that echo the rectangular shapes and horizontal line across the lower section.
After 2 years at SUNY on Long Island and 4 years active duty in the United State Marines, I enrolled and studied Graphic Design, at Rochester Institute of Technology in upstate New York. Afterwards I held several design positions and was the Art Director for an affiliate network TV station for 12 years. In the late 1990s I shifted my focus to my fine art career and photography. My paintings have been juried into and won awards in competitions and group shows in Maine and Arizona. Besides being a former Vice President of the Scottsdale Artist League in the late 90s, I am also a past member of the Sebascodeagan Artists in Maine, the Boothbay Regional Arts Foundation in Maine, and the Sonoran Arts League in Cave Creek, Arizona as well as...
