"Abstract in Yellow and Rust", a color photograph by Bill Tomsa, is a study in how the deteriorating effects of time and nature on man-made structures, in this case a steel tank, can yield a very beautiful example of an abstracted image of rust and paint.
After 2 years at SUNY on Long Island and 4 years active duty in the United State Marines, I enrolled and studied Graphic Design, at Rochester Institute of Technology in upstate New York. Afterwards I held several design positions and was the Art Director for an affiliate network TV station for 12 years. In the late 1990s I shifted my focus to my fine art career and photography. My paintings have been juried into and won awards in competitions and group shows in Maine and Arizona.
