Much to my delight, this Sonoran Desert dwelling bird flew into my camera frame as I was photographing the waxy blossoms on a saguaro cactus in the White Tank Mountains Regional Park which is located west of Phoenix, Arizona. The bird was obviously enjoying it's meal from the abundant white and yellow flowers and thus was inspired the title for this color photograph by me, Bill Tomsa, "Breakfast at the Saguaro Cafe".
After 2 years at SUNY on Long Island and 4 years active duty in the United State Marines, I enrolled and studied Graphic Design, at Rochester Institute of Technology in upstate New York. Afterwards I held several design positions and was the Art Director for an affiliate network TV station for 12 years. In the late 1990s I shifted my focus to my fine art career and photography. My paintings have been juried into and won awards in competitions and group shows in Maine and Arizona. Besides being a former Vice President of the Scottsdale Artist League in the late 90s, I am also a past member of the Sebascodeagan Artists in Maine, the Boothbay Regional Arts Foundation in Maine, and the Sonoran Arts League in Cave Creek, Arizona as well as...
